Summer days usually bring summer day camps. But, as we are all aware, COVID-19 has complicated things this year. Instead of in-person activities, a trio of Greensboro organizations has opted to hold summer online. Part of Greensboro Summer Online includes summer stay camp kits, a comprehensive, self-guided package full of weekly activities to spend summer with!
What is Greensboro Summer Online?
Because of this year’s circumstances, Greensboro Summer Online has replaced regular summer programming from a number of organizations with ties to Greensboro. These include Creative Greensboro, the Department of Libraries and Museums, and Greensboro Parks and Recreation.

What are summer stay camp kits?
As part of the broader Greensboro Summer Online, summer stay camp kits involve self-guided activities geared toward youth. These kits boast 15 unique themes, from health to education. Themes you’ll see covered in these kits include:
- Around the World (July 13)
- Under the Sea (July 20)
- Garden to Table (July 27)
- Great Detective (Aug. 3)
- When I Grow Up (Aug. 10)
Each week during the summer, you can expect a new batch of summer stay camp kits to enjoy. Every kit comes with all the supplies you’ll need to complete the activity. While mainly designed with children in mind, the whole family can get in on the fun!

Summer stay camp kits mainly benefit the age range of 5 to 12-year-olds. All kits will be released on Mondays, from June 22 to Aug. 10. Digital copies price at $3, while physical kits cost $10 and can be picked up Monday through Friday, from 2 to 6 p.m.
Any Greensboro community recreation center will have summer stay camp kits available. All copies, whether physical or digital, are bought conveniently online. Plus, a kit purchase allows a child to virtually visit two camp assembly meetings each week!
