Coming Up: NC Folk Festival 2022

NC Folk Festival 2022

Folks, come one, come all to the NC Folk Festival 2022 in Greensboro September 9th-11th for tons of music, performances, handmade goods and much more!

About the NC Folk Festival 2022

Experience a free full day of culture during the NC Folk Festival held each year in September. This year’s event will feature more than 300 artists on multiple stages.

Established in 2018, the North Carolina Folk Festival followed in the footsteps of the National Folk Festival. That festival was held in Greensboro from 2015-2017.

Now the NC Folk Festival carries on the tradition of inclusion and artistic expression through music, dance, arts, crafts, cooking and more.

In addition to the weekend festival, the popular pre-festival concert “Songs of Hope & Justice” is back for the seventh year!

“Songs of Hope & Justice”

Themes of freedom and social justice will ring with inspiring performances from a variety of musical genres.

“Songs of Hope & Justice” will be Thursday, September 8th, at 8 p.m. at the Van Dyke Performance Space. Get your tickets for the pre-show online now.

What to expect

Expect a continuous stream of creativity and performances throughout the weekend! To be clear, it isn’t all “folk” music either.

In this case, “folk” means people from all walks of life, backgrounds, cultures, musical styles and so on. Festival-goers are likely to hear an Irish fiddle tune one minute and spicy salsa sounds the next, for instance.

What’s more is the Maker’s Market that is also a part of the three-day event. Find local art, crafts, handmade goods and more.
